Baffled!

topic posted Sun, March 25, 2007 - 5:35 PM by  Sigil
The previous owner of my '82 Seca removed the exhaust baffles, and I'm utterly ignorant about what to look for in replacing them. Could I beg and plead for a few suggestions and pointers? :3

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. Fibreglass baffles, a wad of fibreglass stuffed up in the pipes, etc.? This is my first bike and I'm taking my riding course this weekend. I'm trying to learn as I go and keep on my feet, but so much is still very new and confusing to me.

a common design is that a metal insert goes into the tail of the exaust, and is removable. the baffling is wrapped around this insert and then reinstalled into the exaust pipe.

I belive both Kerker and Jardine make replacement pipes for the Seca. Kerkers are a tad pricey but worht every penny though tere nothing wrong with cheaper stuff if you just looking for a good exhaust for daily riding. Try ebay for a stock set of pipes and JC Whitney usually has reasonable aftermarket replace ments and baffles too.
